The Barbados Ships’ Registry supports traditional service!

Although the term ‘Tradition’ could imply a historic perspective to a time when perhaps Ship Registration was little more than a rubber-stamping exercise

At Barbados Maritime we have re- evaluated the services and support required of Flag Administrations in today’s environment and have developed our functions accordingly without seeking to duplicate those provided by classification societies.

We instead have elected to look at the core activities necessary for modern day ship registration that as a priority must provide a depository for legally recognised records of ship ownership and the ensuring that vessels sailing under the Flag of Barbados remain complaint with the statutory requirements applicable to the vessel.

Our focus is on the provision of three distinct services, Registration, Legal and Technical.

In the provision of these three services we provide same day acknowledgements to Owners, Operators and to ship communications.

Where possible this immediate response will seek to address the initial enquiry or request. In cases where this is not possible the communication will be responded to within 48 hours.
