APPROVED CLASS SOCIETIES

The issue of statutory certification and surveys/audits onboard Barbados flag vessels can only be undertaken by classification societies that are a full members of the International Association of Classification Societies.

Ships sailing under the flag of Barbados must be in class with one of the following societies:

·         AMERICAN BUREAU OF SHIPPING (ABS)

·         BUREAU VERITAS (BV)

·         CHINA CLASSIFICATION SOCIETY (CS)

·         DET NORSKE VERITAS (DNV)

·         GERMANISCHER LLOYD (GL)

·         KOREA REGISTER OF SHIPPING (KR)

·         LLOYD'S REGISTER (LR)

·         NIPPON KAIJI KYOKAI (NKK)

·         REGISTRO ITALIANO NAVALE (RINA)

·         REGISTER OF RUSSIAN SHIPPING (RS)
