Class Societies

Classification Societies which are full members of IACS, have been authorised to survey Barbados flag ships and where appropriate issue the relevant international certificates for and on behalf of Barbados. Whilst the role of these societies is fundamental to the good management of the Barbados flag fleet, BMSR do not rely exclusively on their services for the total implementation of the Government’s commitments to safety.

The approval of the Polish, Croatian and Indian classification societies are all in progress.
