BMSR have ratified 22 international conventions to date. The following represent the list of conventions Barbados Maritime Ship registry adheres too.

  • The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea 1974
  • 1978 and 1988 Protocol to the 1974 Convention on Safety of Life at Sea
  • The International Convention on Load Lines, 1966 and its Protocol of 1988
  • The Constitution and Convention of the International Telecommunications Union (NICE) 1989,
    and the Radio Regulations, 1990
  • The Convention on the Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic, 1965
  • The International Convention on Tonnage Measurement of Ships, 1969
  • The International Health Regulations (Geneva) 1969
  • The International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972

  • International Convention relating to intervention on High Seas in cases of Oil Pollution Casualties, 1969
  • Protocol of 1973 relating to Intervention on the High Seas in cases of Pollution by Substances other than Oil
